So often today's children are caught up with playing games on XBox, Wii, PSP and Nintendo DS to name a few. When kids aren't doing that you'll probably find them on a computer chatting on Facebook, MySpace or Twitter.
This is where radio controlled boats come into play. I know it sounds strange but kids are being sidetracked and bombarded with advertising for the latest games, fashion styles and TV content that is basically mindless entertainment. At least with radio controlled boats it opens up a whole new line of entertainment, excitement and education.
RC boats are scaled down versions of many types of speedboats, sailboats, submarines and many others. What is so fun about them is that they are radio controlled and you can buy them ready to run right out of the box or if you're more inclined you can buy boat hulls and the parts to build one yourself. Many people turn them into "projects" and spend months building them and tweaking them. Kids of all ages can run them and its great fun for parents to get involved as well. Running these boats on lakes, rivers and ponds is fun, relaxing and it gets kids and parents together in the fresh air while they spend quality time together.
So next time you see your kids sitting around or they claim that they are bored, think about how radio controlled boats can give them something fun to do and remember that some of these boats are high powered machines that rip through water at speed in excess of 20-40 mph and higher.
